Dear J,

Thank you for your question.

It is not compulsory for members of staff to undertake an  Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) level 2.

That does not mean to say though that in most cases it is not desirable.

On their website Skills for Care says:

‘It is important that people working in adult social care have the right skills and knowledge to provide high quality care and support.

Everyone should be able to take part in learning and development to make sure they can carry out their role effectively.’

https://www.skillsforcare.org.uk/Learning-development/Learning-and-development.aspx

All people working in care should try to continue to develop their skills and themselves.

I hope this is helpful.

Best wishes.

Sheila
