Dear A,

Thank you for your question.

Like almost every question relating to Adult Social Care there is not a simple answer.

The answer to the question will be influenced by a number of different factors.

For example:

The size of the service.

Is the provider also to be the Registered Manager of a single service?

There is a great deal of useful information on the Care Quality Commission (CQC) at

www.cqc.org.uk/guidance-providers/registration/what-registration#accordion-8

On this page, there is also a link to the document ‘The Scope of Registration’.

You may be able to find the answer to your question on these CQC pages, otherwise please email me again with further information.

With best wishes.

Sheila
