Changing position for elderly patients | QCS

Hello. I was trying to find a guidance about changing position to elderly residents every 2 hours during the night. Is it right to disturb them every 2 hours even they are on end of life care plans. All of them are on the airflow matresses. Thank you Anna

Dear Anna,

You will, I expect, be required by your contract of employment to adhere to the policies and procedures of your employer.

The best guidance I have seen on the prevention of pressure is to be found on the NICE website at http://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/cg179/resources/guidance-pressure-ulcers-prevention-and-management-of-pressure-ulcers-pdf

I hope that you find it helpful.
