Dear Mark,

Thank you for your question.

On 19 March DBS issued new guidance which answers your question.

COVID-19: Changes to standard and enhanced ID checking guidelines – https://www.gov.uk/government/news/covid-19-changes-to-standard-and-enhanced-id-checking-guidelines

In the guidance DBS says:

”Due to current measures that have been put in place as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, we’re aware that organisations are having difficulty following the DBS ID checking guidance.”

And the guidance goes on to clarify what you need to do during the outbreak.

I hope this is helpful.

Best wishes.

Sheila
