Hep B immunisations | QCS

Hello Sheila,

Can you please inform me if it is law for all support staff working in the care sector ( residential care home ) to receive Hep B immunisations? And who is responsible to ensure this is done? Is it the Employer , Manager or the responsibility of the Support worker, and who should pay the cost of the immunisation. As far as I can gather immunisations can only be carried out at each persons own GP. I look forward to your reply . Thank you.

Immunisation of personel in the workplaceRDear Tracy,

Thank you for your question. I wasn’t 100% sure on the answer, so I reached out to our Health and Safety Expert at QCS, Sally Beck of Protectus Consulting Ltd. She very helpfully provided an answer that was so detailed that we’ve turned it into a blog, which you can find here: Immunisation of Personnel in the Workplace

Best wishes.

Sheila
