Do you need a MCA linked to a PEEPS in the event of a fire?

Dear Christine,

In the event of a fire I don’t think you will have the time to carry out a Mental Capacity Act Assessment which is why in the PEEPs there needs to be as much relevant information as possible which will help with the safe evacuation of the building.

There is a really useful document at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fire-safety-risk-assessment-residential-care-premises which I am sure you will find helpful in refining your plans.

Best wishes.

Sheila
