Reports on serious failures... | QCS

I am currently doing a management qualification in care. Where can I find government reports, inquiries or research into serious failures to protect individuals who receive home care. or with inadequate risk management plans?

Dear Mick,

The first and most obvious place to look is the Care Quality Commission website. If you look through their backlog of press releases you will find links to their reports on serious failures that they have looked into.

If it is a national scandal, then provided you know the name of the provision for instance Winterbourne View then you will find the results of any inquiry on the Department of Health website.

Lastly, where it is a safeguarding issue each local authority is responsible for undertaking safeguarding concerns in their area.

If you want to discuss this response further please contact the office who will put you in touch with me.

Best wishes.

Sheila
