Sick Note Disciplinary

Dear Sheila,

I was late getting my sick note of my doctor, but the manager at the care home that I work in, started a disciplinary process to which I received a written warning and on record for 12 months.

I have worked in care for 32 years and was very upset. I got a sick note and my manager took this but still went ahead with the disciplinary. I pride myself as a good carer, with good qualifications.

Your Sincerely,

Dear Geraldine,

I understand why you are upset.

I cannot advise you directly about your question because it will be specific to your contract of employment.

It will be dependent on what your contract says whether or not there is anything you can do.

Best wishes,
