With the new inspection methodology will I notice any difference when the inspector calls?

You will have completed a Provider Information Return (PIR) and submitted it at some stage before the inspector arrives. This will have covered information about the KLOEs including policies and procedures. The inspector may have some questions about the information you provided but the big change you will notice is that inspection should no longer be an office based experience but most of the inspectors time will and should be spent talking to and observing service users, visitors, staff and other people visiting the home or office.

This will make a real difference I think because the inspectors will want to find out whether or not the outcomes for the individual are what the service user wants.

Depending on the size of your service the number of inspectors will also vary. Almost every inspection will also have a user by experience as part of the team.

As our experience of the new methodology grows I will let you have more information.
