It has been reviewed and policy statement 4.2 has been removed as this directed employees to the Statutory Time Off Policy and Procedure for their rights in relation to time of for antenatal appointments, which is in fact covered in this policy at procedure 5.3 and

The process for hazard identification has been amended to include a requirement for immediate action to prevent harm where necessary. This policy outlines the law on Parental Leave. This is a commonly overlooked entitlement to leave and should not be confused with Shared Parental Leave, Paternity Leave, Maternity Leave or other family-related leave. The right is to up to 18-weeks of unpaid leave until the employee’s child reaches 18 years old. The policy has been reviewed with an additional form added – ‘Parental Leave Request Form’.

This is a key employment policy and will have an impact on every employee of an employer, as every employee will be subject to it. A disciplinary process is the area which is of most risk to employers so they should ensure they follow a proper process and reach a reasonable decision when carrying it out.
This policy has been updated to amend the references to the COVID-19 element of the procedure to limit the scope of this policy to its intended purpose. A review of premises security risk assessment in light of COVID-19 access arrangements and mitigation measures has been added. To support the completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, a reference has been added on the security of the premises in relation to hardware, software and information assets.
