Data Protection and Confidentiality Policy and Procedure
This policy details how to ensure that data protection and confidentiality are maintained within a service. It has been reviewed and updated, with reference to the coronavirus added in section 4.8 and an ICO link also included in the references section. Other minor content changes made and references updated to ensure they remain current.
Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and Procedure
New: This is a new policy relating to the ethical, social and ecological responsibilities that the provider aligns to its business model which impact beyond the service.
Stoma Care Policy and Procedure
New: This is a new policy to allow a service to support service users with stoma care management. It highlights the varying types of stomas and how these should be managed, whilst acknowledging the importance of staff training and competency in stoma care. Staff should familiarise themselves with this policy before supporting in stoma care.
Changes in Health State Policy and Procedure
New policy – This a new policy which outlines how to support a Service User when there are changes in their health state.
Swabbing Policy and Procedure
Policy has been updated to include the recent criteria for testing, which now includes those in local lockdown areas. Information about the antibody test has also been added. References updated to ensure they remain current.
Advance Care Planning Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines how to support a service user with an advance care plan, detailing their wishes and preferences. It has been updated in light of Max and Keira’s Law in relation to organ donation and a new Further Reading reference has been added that staff should familiarise themselves with.

In response to the recognition that there are multiple demands on your time, we have created a mini mock inspection to help you evidence that your services are still compliant with the CQC requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Oxygen Saturation Monitoring Policy and Procedure
This is a new policy on measuring oxygen saturation levels to support discharge from hospitals and reduce admissions to hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes reference to the RESTORE2 tools to spot early signs of deterioration and contains links to a training video on oxygen saturation measurements and the NEWS observation form.
