Audit Policy and Procedure

This policy and procedure describes and supports audit for general practice and references have been provided specifically for healthcare audit which is a requirement for all NHS providers and, in particular, will be required by GPs and nurses for revalidation.

Audit Policy and Procedure

Clinical Governance Practice Management Region: | Reference: GCP09

This policy outlines the approach to Audit in the Practice and the procedures that will need to be followed to ensure effective audit outcomes. The policy and procedure has been updated to include a reference link to administration and clerical staff picking up “clinical” work under the GPFV which will need auditing. A new section has been added to your system details requiring you to state the name of your Practice Clinical Governance Lead. Please update your system details to ensure that the information contained within the policy reflects your service.

Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedure

Clinical Governance Risk Management and Safeguarding Region: | Reference: GCR05

This policy has been updated and now only relates to safeguarding adults. Child protection is covered in a separate policy. As such, the title of this policy has been changed from ‘Safeguarding Policy and Procedure’ to ‘Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedure’. Providers will need to ensure that local safeguarding reporting procedures are attached to this policy. Local authority safeguarding contact details and how to escalate concerns locally must be clearly visible within the policy and procedure. A new section has been added to your system details requiring you to state the name of your Safeguarding Adult Lead.
