Shared Parental Leave Policy and Procedure
Due to the change in societal norms, statistics indicate that it is expected that the uptake of Shared Parental Leave will soon become more prevalent. It is therefore important that relevant staff are well informed about this policy and are aware of the correct way in which the policy is to be implemented. It has been reviewed with no significant changes and references reviewed and updated.
Compassionate Leave Policy and Procedure
This policy has been updated to provide further detail on the new right of Parental Bereavement Leave and when this must be provided by an employer. This policy governs what actions an employer should take in the event one of their employees suffers the death or serious injury of a close family member. It makes it clear that, except in relation to Parental Bereavement Leave, the employer has the discretion to grant time off and whether this time off is paid or not. Window Security Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed and updated and the business impact has been increased to High. Content has been added about undertaking a risk assessment and additional underpinning knowledge and further reading have also been included. Existing references have been reviewed and updated.
Visiting Contractors Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed with minor additions to the content. Further reading has been added with a link to the Health and Safety Policy and Procedure, and an additional reference included. Existing references have been reviewed and updated.
Maintenance Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed and updated to highlight the Practice Manager Annual Checklist which is available in the QCS Resource Centre. An additional reference has been added, and existing references and further reading have been reviewed and updated.
Training Policy and Procedure
This policy has been updated to include a section about Trainee Doctors and Clinicians, to ensure the Practice has a system in place to provide and update educational resources. A reference to the new QCS Skills and Training Matrix which is available in the QCS Resource Centre is included, , and further reading has been added including a link to the QCS GP Podcast – ‘Why Practice Managers need a Staff Training Strategy’. References have been reviewed and updated.
