Swabbing Policy and Procedure

This is a new policy which outlines the COVID-19 swab testing process for those being tested for coronavirus. It includes the latest guidance from the Health Protection Scotland and UK Government document ‘how to take a combined throat and nose swab’ visual guides, which staff should familiarise themselves with.

Admissions during COVID-19 Policy and Procedure

Blood Pressure Monitoring Policy and Procedure

This is a new policy to support the assessment of Service Users who may have deteriorating health as a result of COVID-19. It is part of a suite of policies that are used to assess deterioration. The policy contains links to RESTORE2 and to training material on blood pressure measurements and home monitoring by the Scottish Government.

Oxygen Saturation Monitoring Policy and Procedure

COVID-19 Hub Health and Safety COVID-19 Region: | Reference: SCC113

This is a new policy on measuring oxygen saturation levels to support discharge from hospitals and reduce admissions to hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. This measurement is part of the National Early Warning Score (NEWS) and is used in RESTORE2 to spot early signs of deterioration in care at home service users. The policy contains links to a training video on oxygen saturation measurements and the NEWS observation form.
