Mobile Phone Use Policy and Procedure

Policy reviewed to encompass the use of a staff member’s personal device and not just those issued by the business. A new procedural section in relation to personal mobile phones has been added. The title of the policy has also changed from ‘Business Mobile Phone Use Policy and Procedure’ to ‘Mobile Phone Use Policy and Procedure’.

Death in Service Policy and Procedure

COVID-19 Hub Health and Safety COVID-19 Region: | Reference: SPM24

New Policy – This is a new policy that will support a service should an employee die as a result of COVID-19. It includes reference to the NHS Scotland and Social Care Coronavirus Life Assurance Scheme 2020 which has been set up to support families of workers, where they are eligible. References to this and bereavement resources have also been added.

Respiration Observation Policy and Procedure

COVID-19 Hub Care Management COVID-19 Region: | Reference: SCC111

As part of the COVID-19 pandemic response, care homes will be required to carry out clinical observations of residents where they have suspected COVID-19 symptoms, have been discharged with COVID-19 symptoms or need to be cared for within the home. The policy outlines how people using services will be supported when they require monitoring of their respiratory rate. The procedure details what staff must do to comply with what is usually a delegated nursing activity.
