Accident and Incident Reporting Policy and Procedure
This policy has been updated to include minor amendments to the structure and ordering of sections throughout the document. New definitions have been added and existing definitions amended for consistency across related policies. The procedural section has also been updated to include identifying responsible persons and immediate incident response and the remainder of the existing procedure simplified. A new accident and incident form has also been added to the ‘Forms’ section.
Dignity, Respect and Choice Policy and Procedure
This policy will support to maintain a person’s dignity, respect and choice whilst undertaking a service. It has been reviewed and updated with more reference to dignity and respect. An additional policy statement and procedural section are now included. Definitions have also been added. The title of the policy has also changed from ‘Choice Policy and Procedure’ to ‘Dignity, Respect and Choice Policy and Procedure’. References also checked to ensure they remain current.
Mobility Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed with minimal change, references and links checked and remain current. This policy will advise and guide staff on supporting service users with their mobility to maintain independence.
Moving and Handling Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed with minimal change. The references and links which comply with best practice as outlined in the Scottish Manual Handling Passport scheme all remain current. This policy will help staff understand how to support service users with moving and handling, keeping them safe and maintaining independence.
Sex, Sexuality and Relationships Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed with minimal changes with references and links checked to ensure they remain current. This policy will guide staff on how best to support people with their sexual desires/needs and their right to a sexual life whilst ensuring that consent and safety is maintained.
Access to NHS Services Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed with minimal change and no imminent legislation or regulatory changes to practice required. This policy will help staff to ensure that all service users can freely access NHS services.
Service User Guide
This policy will inform staff on what contents should be in the Service User Guide, and gives an example of a Service User Guide to use. Policy reviewed with minimal changes, references and links checked and remain current.
Risk Taking Policy and Procedure
Risk taking is central to experiencing good outcomes, this policy will support staff to help individuals take informed risk. Policy reviewed with minimal change, references and links checked and remain current.
Service User Communication with Organisation Policy and Procedure
This policy highlights how individuals can communicate their needs, wishes, preferences and concerns with the service. It has been reviewed with minimal change. References and links have been checked and remain current.
Child Protection Policy and Procedure
The policy will support staff on how to minimise risk to children and includes a reference to the new legislation, the Children (Equal Protection from Assault) (Scotland) Act 2019. An explanation of this was added to 4.1. All other references were checked and remain current.
