Data Protection and Confidentiality Policy and Procedure

Care Management Rights & Abuse Region: | Reference: SCR07

This policy covers the principles of confidentiality and guides staff on expectations. There are new forms added which staff must be aware of. The title of the policy has also changed to the ‘Data Protection and Confidentiality Policy and Procedure’ to reflect these updates. It was previously the ‘Confidentiality Policy and Procedure’.

Whistleblowing Policy and Procedure

This policy outlines the procedure to follow if a person wishes to ‘whistleblow’ and raise a concern about a wrongdoing in their workplace.  It has been updated to include procedures on how to ensure compliance with The Regulatory Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 which imposed a new personal liability on co-workers who victimise or harass whistleblowers as well as vicarious liability on the part of their employers.

This policy is been merged with the De-escalation Policy and Procedure as it is recognised that this is a fundamental strategy for supporting behaviours that may challenge. The De-escalation Policy and Procedure has been archived. New resources have been added to support staff who are working with people who may present with behaviours that may challenge.
