Mental Capacity Act 2005 Policy and Procedure
Converted to new QCS policy format, as well as adding a greater emphasis throughout on the decision specific nature of the Mental Capacity Act and its emphasis on finding the least restrictive option when making decisions for someone who lacks mental capacity.
Choice of Carer Gender Policy and Procedure
This policy has been converted into the new format. It has also been updated with the addition of ‘Best Interest Decision’ information throughout policy and additional legislation (this is not direct legislation, but does impact this policy).
Sickness Absence Policy and Procedure
Review of policy and conversion to new format, minor amends included and clearer reference to other policies.
Challenging Behaviour Policy and Procedure
References have been updated in this policy to reflect updated guidance from the Department of Health and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Annual Holiday Policy and Procedure
Changes to ensure policy is more user friendly as well as conversion into the new policy format.
De-escalation Policy and Procedure
The policy has been updated to incorporate guidance in the revised Mental Health Act Code of Practice, as well as converting into the new policy format.
Training Policy and Procedure
Updated to reflect changes in training requirements.
The policy is in the new format and includes key facts and evidence to support outstanding practice. The Care Certificate requirement has been included in the policy, and the commitment of the service to the delivery of training has been made explicit.
Service Users with Communication Difficulties Policy and Procedure
Updated to reflect the new ‘Accessible Information Standard’, and the requirement to have systems implemented by 31st July 2016.
Expanded definition of communication difficulties, and reference has been made to the importance of communication in assessing a person’s mental capacity to make a particular decision. Converted to new policy format.
