Blood Pressure Monitoring Policy and Procedure
This policy will support staff who are required to support with blood pressure monitoring. It has been reviewed with no significant changes and references checked and updated.
Depression Policy and Procedure
This policy will aid staff where individuals have a diagnosis of, or may suffer from, depression. It has been reviewed with changes throughout for clarity, and to emphasise that depression is not usually a lifelong condition. Rearranging the order of some policy statements and key facts has also taken place. References have also been checked to ensure they remain current.
Domestic Violence and Abuse Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed and remains part of the Safeguarding Adults and Child Protection policies and procedures. The local safeguarding reporting procedures must be attached to this policy to ensure staff know who to contact and what their contact details are. During the COVID-19 pandemic, staff working directly with individuals and their families need to be aware of the signs to look for and how to report any concerns. The policy review has added additional information around apps, modern slavery and new ways to ask for help in the community.
Social Networking Policy and Procedure
This policy will support a service with its approach to social networking and media. It has been reviewed with a Further Reading link updated only and references checked and updated.
Use of Bed Rails Policy and Procedure
This policy details how the service will support individuals who may require the use of bed rails as part of their care or support. It has been reviewed and updated throughout with a new procedural section added on co-production and information sharing. UK GDPR added and extra link to statutory guidance included.
Coronavirus Policy and Procedure
This policy is an overarching policy on coronavirus and must be read alongside the suite of policies and procedures in the COVID-19 Hub. It has been reviewed following the update to ‘COVID-19 contacts – Guidance for health and social care staff’. Procedural section 5.10 has been updated to reflect what to do when in contact with a positive COVID-19 case, and also when it is someone within the member of staff’s household. References have been reviewed and updated.
Annual Holiday Policy and Procedure
This policy highlights the annual holiday entitlements of staff. It has been reviewed and Section 5.12 has been updated in relation to the latest guidance on travel to Wales from abroad. References have also been checked to ensure they remain current.
Smoking Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines how staff can support individuals who smoke. It has been updated to include a clearer reference to vaping (section 4.4) and references checked and updated to ensure they remain current.

This policy overarches the suite of audits and action plans available, and should be read in conjunction with these. It has been reviewed with no content changes and references also checked to ensure they remain current.
