Body Temperature Policy and Procedure
This is a new policy which will support staff with taking an Individual’s body temperature. It gives guidance on what is a normal and abnormal temperature, and highlights the procedure to follow if a fever is suspected. A form is available for staff to record results of the procedure. Although the checking of body temperatures is considered to be a delegated nursing activity, the checking of temperatures may be required by care staff during the COVID-19 outbreak.
