Infection Control Policy and Procedure
Infection Control is an important aspect in the delivery of safe care and this policy has
been updated to include reference to not wearing uniforms outside of the care home.
References also checked to ensure they remain current.
Wound Care Management Policy and Procedure
This policy will support those who provide wound care management to individuals to ensure care is delivered with the best outcomes and in line with national best practice guidance and recommendations. The policy has been reviewed and updated to include reference to the relevant Care Inspectorate Wales lines of enquiry.
Water Temperature Policy and Procedure
This policy will support in ensuring water temperatures remain within recommended requirements to avoid individuals being affected by burns and scalding, which could have a significant impact on them and the home through adverse publicity. All staff need to be aware of the severity of burns and scalding as such an incident would be a safeguarding issue. This policy has been reviewed with new forms added that staff should familiarise themselves with. References also checked to ensure they remain current.
PEG Policy and Procedure
This policy details the care of the PEG site post insertion. It has been reviewed and updated and now includes reference to the Care Inspectorate Wales Lines of Enquiry.
Health and Safety Training Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed with no significant changes and references checked and updated.
Legionella Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed and updated. Now includes reference to COVID-19 and the risks associated with legionella, also added the relevant CIW line of enquiry to support understanding of how policy can inform inspections.
Risk Assessment Policy and Procedure
This policy details the risk assessment process to ensure that any risks that may occur within a service are reduced or controlled. It has been updated to reflect the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with new sections added. References have also been added and existing ones checked to ensure they remain current.
Personal Hygiene Policy and Procedure
Policy converted to the new QCS format, setting out the standards expected of staff in relation to personal presentation when representing the service.
