Risk Assessment Policy and Procedure
This policy details the risk assessment process to ensure that any risks that may occur within a service are reduced or controlled. It has been updated to reflect the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with new sections added. References have also been added and existing ones checked to ensure they remain current.
Laundry Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines the process a service should adopt in relation to its laundry practices. It has been reviewed and updated to include the latest information and advice regarding the management of laundry during the Covid-19 pandemic. SCIE have provided the content. The SCIE reference should be used to access further detail on best practice during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Infection Control Policy and Procedure
This policy details aspects of infection control that should be implemented by a service. It has been reviewed and updated to reflect current guidance in relation to the coronavirus pandemic. A new section around staff testing has also been included and references have been checked to ensure they remain current.
Cross-Contamination Between Care and Catering Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines how to eliminate cross-contamination between care and catering. It has been reviewed and references updated. Policy now includes reference to COVID-19 and the increased importance of managing contacts between care and catering staff, and the need to follow the latest government guidance.
Pressure Ulcer Management Policy and Procedure
This policy details how the service will support Individuals who are at risk of or present with pressure ulcers. It defines the roles and responsibilities of staff and details the clinical governance framework for reducing risk and reflection. The policy has been reviewed with changes made to the procedures to reflect the NHS improvement standards relating to definitions (specifically procedure 5.3 and 5.7). A definition has been amended to reflect the current recommended definition, and a further definition added. The term grade has been removed and replaced with Category across the procedure section.
Serious Incident Notification Policy and Procedure
Policy review undertaken, minor content changes made. References updated to ensure they remain current and additional resources added.
Personal Hygiene Policy and Procedure
Policy converted to the new QCS format, setting out the standards expected of staff in relation to personal presentation when representing the service.
