This policy will support a service with the safe management of lifts and hoists. It has been reviewed with minor changes to the policy and missing legislation and Welsh Lines of Enquiry added, additional reference material also included.
This policy details the maintenance procedures for a service to follow. It has been reviewed and the procedure updated to reflect “Hot works” and “Permit to Works” with additional bits of information. There is also reference to working safely, barriers and locking off areas, making the area safe, cleaning up and removing tools after completion or away from the work. A Permit to Work template has also been provided in the Forms section.
This policy outlines the safe management of lifts within a service. It has been reviewed with legislation updates and additional references have been added.
This policy will support the service with fire safety, ensuring it has the right checks and procedure in place in the event of a fire. The policy has been reviewed with some changes. The terminology ‘stay put policy’ has been removed and replaced with ‘defend in place’. There is more emphasis on the fact that fire drills should be conducted at night as well as during the day (when fewer staff are available). Some additional references have also been included.
This policy discusses room call systems used within the service. The policy has been reviewed and now references the Medical Device Regulations 2002.
