Policy now includes reference to COVID-19 and the increased importance of managing contacts between care and catering staff, and the need to follow the latest government guidance.
This policy will support the service with fire safety, ensuring it has the right checks and procedure in place in the event of a fire. The policy has been reviewed with some changes. The terminology ‘stay put policy’ has been removed and replaced with ‘defend in place’. There is more emphasis on the fact that fire drills should be conducted at night as well as during the day (when fewer staff are available). Some additional references have also been included.
