DBS/Disclosure Policy and Procedure
This policy has been updated to merge both the DBS/Disclosure Policy and Procedure and the Recruitment of Ex-Offenders Policy and Procedure to ensure clarity and avoid any crossover. The policy also now includes the new position on DBS filtering. This policy governs how and when an employer needs to carry out a DBS check along with the categories of employee who should be subject to a DBS check from a regulatory perspective.
Accident and Incident Reporting Policy and Procedure
This policy details the accident and incident reporting process for a service. It has been updated to include minor amendments to the structure and ordering of sections throughout the document. New definitions have been added and existing definitions amended for consistency across related policies. The procedural section has also been updated to include identifying responsible persons and immediate incident response and the remainder of the existing procedure simplified. A new accident and incident form has also been added to the ‘Forms’ section.
Individual Guide
This policy sets out how the service will ensure the individual is provided with information detailing how the service will support them. It includes a template Individual Guide which should be adapted at local level. The policy and guide has been reviewed with no changes made. References remain current to the content of the policy.
Mobility Policy and Procedure
Where individuals require mobility support, this policy provides guidance in this area, including the use of equipment to support mobility. It has been reviewed with minor content changes and a policy statement added in relation to coronavirus. References also updated to ensure they remain current.
Consent to Examination or Treatment Policy and Procedure
Consent is an important aspect of providing support and care to any individual; this policy looks at how consent can be gained. The policy has been reviewed, with a new policy statement added in relation to coronavirus. Other minor content tweaks and references updated to ensure they remain current.
Pressure Sore Management Policy and Procedure
This policy will support a service in delivering safe and effective pressure management to service users that require it. The policy has been reviewed with minor content changes and forms amended slightly to ensure they remain streamlined. References also checked to ensure they remain current.
Individual Communication with Organisation Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines how an individual and the organisation can maintain effective communication. It has been reviewed with a new policy statement added in relation to the coronavirus pandemic. References also updated to ensure they remain current.
Dignity, Respect and Choice Policy and Procedure
This policy will support to maintain a person’s dignity, respect and choice whilst undertaking a service. It has been reviewed and updated with more reference to dignity and respect. An additional policy statement and procedural section are now included. Definitions have also been added. The title of the policy has also changed from ‘Choice Policy and Procedure’ to ‘Dignity, Respect and Choice Policy and Procedure’. References also checked to ensure they remain current.
