This policy formally defines the steps to take to identify when somebody is at risk of choking whilst eating, and it defines the actions to take, and who should be involved in the management when issues are identified. It links to the resuscitation guidelines and has reference to modified foods and fluid management. The policy has been reviewed to ensure consistency with legislation applicable to services in Wales.
