Domestic Violence and Abuse Policy and Procedure
This is a new policy that sits as part of the Safeguarding Adults and Child Protection policies and procedures. The local safeguarding reporting procedures must be attached to this policy to ensure that staff know who to contact as well as their contact details. During the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to stay at home, self-isolation and increased anxiety and worry are likely to result in increased rates of domestic violence and abuse. Staff working directly with individuals and their families need to be aware of the signs to look for and how to report any concerns.
Additionally, some sections have been added to your system details requiring you to state (a) the name of your Adult Safeguarding Lead, (b) the phone number of the Adult Safeguarding Lead and (c) the email address of the Adult Safeguarding Lead. Please update your system details to ensure that the information contained within the policy reflects your service.
