Domestic Violence and Abuse Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed in line with and remains part of the Safeguarding Adults and Child Protection policies and procedures. The local safeguarding reporting procedures must be attached to this policy to ensure that staff know who to contact and their contact details.
During the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to stay at home, self-isolation and increased anxiety and worry is likely to result in increased rates of domestic violence and abuse. Staff working directly with individuals and their families need to be aware of the signs to look for and how to report any concerns. The policy review has added additional information around apps, modern slavery and new ways to ask for help in the community.
