Duty of Candour Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed and the content updated to reflect the CQC’s updated guidance on meeting the duty of candour. A new definition has been added which makes clear that the apology required to fulfil the duty of candour does not mean accepting liability. References and further reading have been added, including the CQC’s specific explanation of what is defined as a notifiable safety incident with examples. The Incident and Accident Reporting form has also been updated to record whether or not the incident is reportable. Existing references have been reviewed and updated.
