Tim Dallinger Welsh Care and Social Services Inspectorate Specialist
After completing a degree in Civil Engineering Tim worked in both the public and private sectors in research, project management and business support and development roles. For the last 30 years, Tim has been actively involved in the health & social care sector and in particular in owning and managing an organisation which provides residential care for adults with a learning disability and/or mental health needs in small group settings within the local community.
Tim is the Responsible Individual and Chief Executive and has previously been a Registered Manager. Tim’s management style is to “lead by example” and in order to reinforce this Tim works as a Social Care Worker alongside team members on a regular basis. The care sector is a heavily regulated environment and there are specific demands on ensuring that staff are effectively managed to ensure the safety of service users. This includes; recruitment, supervision and appraisal and day to day work allocation. These are key skills which Tim combines with a mentoring role for all staff in the organisation. Tim believes that an organisation has a role to play in developing all staff to achieve their full potential and all team members are supported and encouraged in this.
Tim combines this role with the delivery of a training and consultancy service in health and social care which Tim formed in 2008. Tim designs, develops and delivers a wide range of courses across the UK from the perspective of the care practitioner. Tim has authored many articles on quality and regulatory compliance in the health and social care sector and these have been published in publications such as; Expert Care Manager, Quality and Compliance, School Business Manager, Nursing and Residential Care. Tim has been delivering seminars and conferences on the new regulatory framework in England and also undertakes service audits for providers.
Tim is also a trustee of a charity which supports children and young parents in Caerphilly, South Wales
