What does a self-employed carer need to do regarding DBS checks, public liability, and National Insurance contributions?

A self-employed carer would be responsible for having their own public liability insurance in place and responsible for their own tax (including paying NI contributions). Therefore, the self-employed carer would need to ensure that they are registered with HMRC and pay the correct tax.
