CQC: Updated guidance on meeting the Duty of Candour – Published 11 March

CQC have updated their guidance for providers on Regulation 20, making it clear what providers should do to meet the regulation. For more information click here.

The guidance has been updated to include that Day 2 tests can be taken in-clinic with an organisation on the list of providers of Day 2 and Day 8 testing for international arrivals. For more information click here.  

COVID-19: Further MHRA response to the precautionary suspensions of COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca – Updated 16 March

The MHRA have issued another statement highlighting that it has still not been confirmed the reported blood clots were caused by the COVID-19 vaccine, and people should still continue to have the vaccine. For more information click here.

COVID-19: More than 25 million people in the UK have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine – Published 17 March

A significant milestone has been reached with almost half of all adults in the UK receiving a first dose of the vaccine. For more information click here.  

COVID-19: PHE study shows three quarters of over 70s have COVID-19 antibodies – Press Release 17 March

A study by Public Health England has shown that an estimated 75.8% of over 70 to 84 year old blood donors had antibodies to COVID-19 by early March. For more information click here.

COVID-19: Letter to clinically extremely vulnerable people – Published 18 March

The government have issued a letter to all people on the Shielded Patient List containing new guidance that takes effect from 1 April, where people are no longer required to shield. For more information click here.
