Hilary Woodhead, NAPA’s Executive Director, has recently talked to us about NAPA’s 25th Anniversary and the importance of the first ever National Activity Providers and Professionals Week (NAAP) here in the UK.

Hilary explained: ‘During NAAP week thousands took to social media to show their support and to celebrate the contributions of Activity providers everywhere. The week was provided in partnership with NAAP (The National Association of Activity Professionals in the United States), Care England, NCF, and Scottish Care. Activity Providers and care settings were invited to pledge their support, attend webinars, contribute to consultation events and enjoy entertainment. The feedback was amazing and we are overwhelmed by the level of interest and engagement as we also embark on NAPA’S 25th Year.

NAAP Week was a huge success thank you to everyone who took part and celebrated this truly inspiring workforce. We appreciate everyone. We are so proud of the Activity Provider workforce; supporting people to live content, connected and creative lives, every single day.’

Talking about the team’s plans for the rest of the year, Hilary added: ‘We have many plans for 2022 as we continue to celebrate activity providers and champion activity provision. Our national campaign encourages us to be creative, use our imagination, enable individual expression and enhance wellbeing. We are also excited to continue our work with QCS, our Dementia Best Practice Partners to engage with and support activity providers through a number of creative projects’.

NAPA has also recently launched their 25th Anniversary Appeal aiming for £25,000 in their 25th year. The funds raised will help the NAPA team to continue the great work to support care services to prioritise and improve wellbeing every day.

If you would like to help the team reach their 25K goal you can donate HERE or if you would like to organise your own fundraising event to support our 25th Anniversary Appeal visit the fundraising pages of NAPA’s brand new website and download their latest fundraising guide HERE.
