Agency & Home Care: Can we work from home or is an office required? | QCS

We are starting a new service in the sector of Health and Social Care. The company is at the moment registered at my home address.
My question is: Since we are doing Agency and Home Care can we work from home or do we need to get an office?
Thanks

Dear Betty,

You can use your home as the registered offices for your agency but and there is always a but!

The office must be in a specified room and because you will be holding confidential information about both the service users and the staff, the room must be kept locked when there is no one in the building and most importantly all records must be kept under lock and key.

You should also give some attention to Health and Safety legislation if staff or others are visiting the office.

Best wishes.

Sheila
