How do I register for a day care facility at a nursing home? | QCS

I would like to offer a day care facility at my nursing home for 4 adults. How do I register for this?

Thank you.

Dear Bridget,

Day Care Facilities are not registered by CQC or any other agency.

You are though registered as a nursing home and therefore you should keep CQC informed of your plans.

They will need to know that you have enough space to provide day care and that you will have enough staff available too.

This will also require a change to your Statement of Purpose.

Providing you have enough space and have taken the additional work into account in your arrangements for staff I cannot imagine any reason why CQC might object, indeed quite the reverse I would have thought as you will be providing an important resource in your community.

Best wishes with your plans.
