I know of an RMN who has practised on numerous occasions without a valid PIN number. What should I do?
Thank you for this question which is one of the most serious questions I have ever received.
It is a criminal offence to practice as a nurse without the appropriate qualifications and that would include being on the register of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). http://www.nmc.org.uk/registration/ This would include renewing registration as and when required.
Anyone employing a nurse should check the pin number given to them by the applicant. This is a fairly straightforward task and can be done through the NMC website.
