What is the role of an agency/agency staff in relation to responsibility in a residential home? | QCS

As an agency staff in a residential home, what is the role of my agency in relation to responsibility whilst I am providing care support in the home?

Dear I,

Thank you for your question. You don’t state what your role is as an agency worker for example whether you are a care worker or a registered nurse. This will have an impact on the responsibilities that you will have. However, without knowing what role you have, I would suggest you speak to the agency that has engaged you every time you are offered an assignment. They should explain what is expected of you. When you arrive at the home for the first time, you should have an induction and also be part of any handover. This handover should outline what you need to do and what you are responsible for. If you aren’t sure, you do need to ask. I hope this helps.
