If, by registering with the CQC you mean as a registered manager, there is a whole process that you need to go through which is much broader than just evidencing the ‘care side of the role’. But as an experienced clinical nurse, you will have a lot of relevant skills that are transferable and should put you in a strong position with the CQC. However, the CQC has a set process and will assess your skills, experience and qualifications, as well as your understanding of the legislation and how it is relevant for the regulated activity you wish to be registered for. An application form needs to be submitted, and then you will be interviewed by the CQC. They will ask you further questions to clarify your understanding of what is expected.
