There is not much information here for me to fully answer your question. Here Sheila answers it in a slightly different way to give you some context. For you to give permission, you would need to hold the legal power to do so, or it would need to be part of a best interest decision process following the principles of the Mental Capacity Act as part of a multidisciplinary process.

 

If the home is asking your permission, I assume that you already hold the legal authority to act on behalf of your husband, such as LPA for Health and Welfare to enable you to make decisions on his behalf. You can discuss the process with the home manager who should be able to advise further on your husband’s case.
