I was speaking to another care provider at a meeting last week and they told me that they had received a letter from the Pensions Regulator with information about what they have to do to carry out their duties and what date those duties will start. I haven’t received anything, is there something I should be doing? – Max
Dear Max,
This is the latest information we have from the Pensions Regulator:
Automatic enrolment: Look out for a letter from The Pensions Regulator
The Pensions Regulator will be writing to ALL small and micro employers over the coming months to ensure they know when their new workplace pensions duties start. If you get this letter, please open it. It will provide key information such as the date the law applies to you and how you can nominate a contact with The Pensions Regulator so that you receive regular, useful and relevant information from the regulator in the run up to the date at which you need to comply with your duties.
Have you already checked the date that the law applies to you?
If not, then visit http://www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk/ to confirm when the staging date is for your business and get ahead of the curve.
Automatic enrolment: 86% of small and 75% of micro employers believe that automatic enrolment is a ‘good idea’ for their workers.
Recent research carried out by The Pensions Regulator indicates that workplace pensions are becoming the norm, with the majority of small and micro employers indicating that they believe it to be a ‘good idea’.
Do you know what you need to do and when in order to meet your duties? Leaving it until the last minute could make the process more complex and costly.
Go to this website http://www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk/ for a planning tool to help you identify what you’ll need to do to prepare.
Automatic enrolment: Over 5 million workers have now been automatically enrolled into a pension scheme.
While it’s automatic for workers, it’s not automatic for employers who will need to plan and prepare for the steps they need to take in order to comply with the law and avoid a possible financial penalty.
Do you have the information you need?
