The CQC today published their new ‘Key Lines Of Enquiry’ (KLOEs) and ‘ratings characteristics’ documents for residential and community services, including home care.
You can view the new Key lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) by clicking HERE and the new approach to inspection by clicking HERE
The CQC will begin inspecting against these new standards on the 1st of October 2014.
The CQC state that “The Fresh Start methodology includes rating services. The ratings answer five key questions: Is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs, and well led? There will be a rating for each question and an overall rating. Ratings will be based on a four point scale; ‘Outstanding’, ‘Good’, Requires Improvement’, or ‘Inadequate’.”
We understand that if they haven’t done so already, all registered providers should receive information on this directly from the CQC very shortly.
