Navigating the QCS system dashboard & my top 50 policies

Dementia Care
August 5, 2020

Now more than ever, Rachel Linfoot, as a Dental Practice Manager, recognises the need for a high-quality compliance system. A management system that allows her to keep up-to-date with the ever-changing Coronavirus guidance, and most importantly keep her staff and patients safe.

Last week, Rachel shared with us her initial experience setting up with QCS Dental management system. This time, she is talking to us about her impression navigating the system and her top 50 policies!

Having been extremely impressed with the QCS dental compliance system last week, I logged in to set up the system specifically for my practice.

I was provided with a handy pop up questionnaire asking a set of questions that are used to personalise the policies. I was asked things about the business and premises, local contact and supplier details, and names of key individuals in the business.

Once I had entered all the required details, to my surprise the policies were instantly ready to go with the information I provided. I would say the process took me about 45 minutes from start to finish to find and enter the information, which was great, a really easy, simple set up.

Then I entered my team members and roles into the system. I plan to use this to create separate management, clinical and reception teams so I can allocate certain policies to the appropriate departments.

What I really love about QCS policies is the way they are set up into easy to read sections. Each policy is structured in the same way:

  • Full policy
  • Review sheet
  • Purpose
  • Scope
  • Objectives
  • Policy
  • Procedure
  • Definitions
  • Key facts for professionals
  • Key facts for patients and people affected by the service
  • Further reading
  • How to excel in this area
  • Relevant forms and resources

Personally, I think this set up is perfect because often you just want to know something quickly and do not have time to read a full policy. The information is extremely easy to access in this way.

QCS have over 220 helpful policies and procedures on the system, all brilliant and serving a useful purpose, having taken the time to look at all the policies, I have listed my top 50 below:

  • Coronavirus Policy and Procedure
