This policy has been updated to include new guidance stating that staff who have tested positive to COVID-19 are exempt from retesting for 90 days. Link to guidance included within the core of the procedure and in references.
This policy has been reviewed and now includes reference from NHS England and the specified number of pulse oximeters that should be available in care homes for safe management of service users during COVID-19. This is now discussed in section 4.2 and 5.7. Additional further reading resources also added.
New: This is a new policy that details how ‘Resident Of The Day’ can be used to ensure that service users are offered a meaningful opportunity for a care review and to feedback on the service provided. This policy includes a form that can be used to evidence completion of the ‘Resident Of The Day’.
