The changes have been aligned to the introduction of the Dental Electronic Referral System powered by REGO and to add in reference to the local area teams and their requirements. There is a move away from the use of the term ‘dental practice’ to give a broader reach to all dental settings and also an introduction of the use of the term ‘dental team’.
Policy has been updated to include specific guidance that needs to be included in the ongoing quality assurance systems, procedures and protocols within the workplace. This includes how to work towards best practice. Professional responsibilities have been included to support the ongoing development of the team.
Policy has been updated to reflect communication methods and the importance of this. Professional standards have also been embedded within the policy.
This policy has been thoroughly updated to support the quality improvement cycle which is part of the overall requirement to operate clinical governance systems.
