Management and Prevention of Violence at Work Policy and Procedure
This policy will support a service to manage and prevent violence at work. It has been reviewed and additional definitions included. The requirements for reporting under RIDDOR of acts of non-consensual violence, where it results in an injury of a severity specified by RIDDOR as reportable, has also been included and updates made throughout. References also checked to ensure they remain current.
Statement of Purpose Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed with minor changes to the content to give specific examples in some sections. New references and further reading have been added and existing references have been reviewed and updated.
Medicines Policy and Procedure
This policy has been updated to reflect the latest CQC guidance on non-medical prescribing. Additional content including a new policy statement, procedure, references and further reading has been added, as well as actions for the Practice to conduct staff risk assessments to ensure that staff are appropriately qualified and registered and take appropriate steps to assure safety. Existing references have also been reviewed and updated.
Quality Improvement Policy and Procedure
This policy has been updated to reflect the two new quality improvement topics in QOF for 2020/21 which are focused upon supporting people with a learning disability and early cancer diagnosis. Additional content has been added with examples of what actions are needed, particularly as the Practice continues to move through the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. New references, definitions and further reading have also been added.
Staff Requirements and Involvement Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed with minor changes to the content. Additional references and further reading have been added, including links to other relevant policies. Existing references have been reviewed and updated.
Communication Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed and updated with minimal changes to the content. A new definition has been added and the procedure updated to reflect that the NHS Choices website is now referred to as the NHS website. Further reading has been added and references have been reviewed and updated.
Data Protection and Confidentiality Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed with minimal changes to the content, and further reading has been added. References have been checked and updated. The title of this policy has also changed from ‘Confidentiality Policy and Procedure’ to ‘Data Protection and Confidentiality Policy and Procedure’.
Business Continuity Policy and Procedure
This policy has been reviewed with definitions and further reading added. References have been checked and updated. It is important that business continuity arrangements are reviewed as soon as possible, especially in the event of a second peak of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
Health and Safety Training Policy and Procedure
Policy has been updated to include details of health and safety training topics. Two new forms have been added, one to record staff feedback following health and safety training, and one is a record of health and safety training undertaken by each member of staff. References have been reviewed and updated.
