Advance Care Planning Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines how to support a service user with an Advance Care Plan, detailing their wishes and preferences.
Sickness Absence Policy and Procedure
This Policy has information on the latest Government guidance relating to COVID-19 and sickness. It details how the organisation will manage sickness and absence.
Furlough Policy and Procedure
This policy will be a key policy through the COVID-19 pandemic if an employer is looking to make use of Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme due to a downturn in work. This policy sets out how an employer can temporarily lay off or give short-time working and take advantage of the EWSS where there is 30% reduction in turnover (see full policy for details). A number of useful documents are also provided.
Parental Leave Policy and Procedure
The policy is to govern the right to parental leave which is a different statutory right to shared parental leave, paternity leave and maternity leave. There have been recent uplifts to the amount of parental leave which can be taken rising to 26 weeks from 1 Sept 2020 – this information has been included in the policy.

Home Working Policy and Procedure
This policy details how home working must be managed to ensure that it is carried out legally and safely. The policy references Coronavirus, with the option for employers to use home working temporarily if the need arises
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy and Procedure
New: This policy provides information on the safe care of clients and the protection of staff as part of infection control measures. It also has a focus on the management of PPE in relation to COVID-19.
Business Continuity Policy and Procedure
This policy has been simplified to support providers to create plans more easily. A new templated business continuity plan has been added which includes key themes. The template needs a full review and customising by the service and any local themes need to be included. Additional templates on Service User priority need categorisation added. Policy Impact raised to critical to reflect the need to have plans in place asap.
Death in Service Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines the social and legal responsibilities of an employer when there is an employee death in service, with particular focus around COVID-19 deaths and the new legal requirement to report a COVID-19 death to the HSA under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Biological Agents) Regulations 2013 and 2020.
Compassionate Leave Policy and Procedure
A new policy to encompass compassionate leave for the critical illness or death of a close family member. The policy explains the discretionary measure of compassionate leave for all staff and the legal provision of Force Majeure.
