Electrical Safety Policy and Procedure
This policy details the processes in place for managing electrical systems and equipment. It has been reviewed with amendments throughout. Definitions have been clarified, including updating PAT information. References to the COSHH Regulations have been removed. An additional procedure section makes reference to the requirement for action on safety-critical defects following the EICR.
Dilution of Chemicals Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed and now includes reference to the Care Inspectorate Wales Lines of Enquiry. No other changes to wording or content made as policy is still relevant and up to date.
Service Equipment Maintenance Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed and updated with minor changes. This policy now includes reference to COVID-19 and the management of visits to the service for maintenance purposes.
Supply of Individual’s Own Food Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed and updated with minor changes. These include reference to CIW Lines of Enquiry and explicit detail that any food being brought in by a third party will be in addition, and that the service will always ensure that dietary and cultural needs are being met. References also updated with specific link to food and nutrition best practice in Welsh Care Homes.
Catering Cleaning Schedule and Audit Policy and Procedure
This policy outlines the process of the cleaning schedule to ensure the service remains safe. It has been reviewed with no significant changes and references checked and updated.
Catering Hazard Analysis (HACCP) Policy and Procedure
This policy sets out the framework for HACCP within the service. The policy has been reviewed with no change to the content. The Welsh Lines of Enquiry have been added.
Catering Policy and Procedure
This is an overarching policy to support with the suite of food and catering policies at the service. It has been reviewed with no significant changes and references have been checked and updated.
Visiting Contractors Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed and updated. Now includes reference to COVID-19 and the importance of risk assessing the need for contractors to visit the service. The Visiting Contractors Declaration form has also been updated to reflect COVID-19.
Legionella Policy and Procedure
Policy reviewed and updated. Now includes reference to COVID-19 and the risks associated with legionella, also added the relevant CIW line of enquiry to support understanding of how policy can inform inspections.
Lifts and Hoists Policy and Procedure
This policy will support a service with the safe management of lifts and hoists. It has been reviewed with minor changes to the policy and missing legislation and Welsh Lines of Enquiry added, additional reference material also included.
