This policy outlines the stakeholder survey process that should be adopted to ensure the continuous improvement of a service and evidence that actions have been taken to address concerns. It provides information and guidance and explains how to ensure the effective use of the new surveys. The policy also relates the surveys to the inspection framework used by the CIW and provides a form to assist with the analysis of returned surveys. The policy supports and links closely with the Mock inspection Toolkits.

This policy outlines the clinical procedures and the practices that clinical staff should adopt. It has been reviewed with minor changes to the content. References have been checked and remain relevant and current to the content of the policy. One additional reading resource has been added that staff should familiarise themselves with. Please ensure that reference to employed nurses (section 4.4) is removed where not required, as it is acknowledged that not all services will have employed registered nurses. This policy outlines how to approach behaviours that challenge and the de-escalation techniques that can be used. The title of the policy has also been updated from ‘Challenging Behaviour’ to ‘Behaviour that Challenges’ Policy and Procedure. A scheduled review has been undertaken of the policy to ensure it mirrors best practice and up-to-date theory and thinking about behaviours that may challenge. This policy has also been merged with the De-escalation Policy and Procedure, which is a fundamental strategy for supporting with behaviours that may challenge. The De-escalation Policy and Procedure has been archived. Additional references have been added to support staff and existing ones updated. Staff should familiarise themselves with all resources. Please note that the reference of this policy has changed from WCP05 to WCP33.
New policy outlining the importance of leadership and management, and defining areas that are needed to be reflected in practice. The policy also defines the roles of individuals within the service to ensure a full understanding of roles and responsibilities. It identifies ways in which the policy can be embedded into practice
and ways to ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and the opportunities that they have to develop the service.
This is a new policy that has been developed to support the understanding of the new CIW inspection framework, and highlight how the QCS management system enables providers to use the management system to address new regulatory requirements, and also to identify where the relevant policies are located to support CIW requirements.
