Maternity Leave Policy and Procedure

Human Resources Absence, Holidays and Sickness Region: | Reference: GPA03

This policy details the entitlements surrounding maternity leave for staff. It has been reviewed and policy statement 4.2 has been removed as this directed employees to the Statutory Time Off Policy and Procedure for their rights in relation to time off for antenatal appointments, which is in fact covered in this policy at procedure 5.3 and 5.4. References also checked to ensure they remain current.

Hazard Reporting Policy and Procedure

Health and Safety Health & Safety Region: | Reference: GHS06

This policy has been updated with minor amendments to the structure and ordering of the sections. There are also minor amendments to the definitions to ensure consistency with other policies. The process for hazard identification has been amended to include a requirement for immediate action to prevent harm where necessary. The Hazard Record Form has been amended to include capture of these actions. References have been reviewed and updated.

Staff Contracts Policy and Procedure

Human Resources Contract of Employment Region: | Reference: GPC06

This policy will support a service with new or existing staff who require contracts and includes templates to use. The contract has been reviewed and updated to reference the relevant policies on the QCS system and to reflect the requirements of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit clauses on confidentiality. The title of the policy has also changed from ‘Statement of Main Terms and Conditions of Employment – Variation Policy and Procedure’ to ‘Staff Contracts Policy and Procedure’.

Security Policy and Procedure

This policy has been updated to amend the references to the COVID-19 element of the procedure to limit the scope of this policy to its intended purpose. A review of premises security risk assessment in light of COVID-19 access arrangements and mitigation measures has been added. To support the completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, a reference has been added on the security of the premises in relation to hardware, software and information assets. References have been reviewed and updated.

Adoption Policy and Procedure

The policy has been updated to include reference to scenarios where adoption leave would not be available. This policy governs the statutory minimum requirements and entitlements for employees who wish to take adoption leave. An employer can choose to do more than is in this policy but must not do less.
